WWK is almost HERE !!
The first I want to say about WWK is its name , because it reminds me of WWE :p
Seriously now lets see some cards that might see play:
Loam Lion- white kird ape nothing more to say
Dispel - Counters instants for U it sounds good and playable even in Legacy, may be as a replace of REB ou BEB in some sideboards
Jace - I definitely like this jace more than the other but still I think it's too overrated, still the ability to brainstorm every single turn is something ....
Selective memory- Smells like combo but I think will never see play it's just too kamikaze and you don't even put cards back at the order you want so...
Kalastria Highborn - This could bring vampires to the next level but I think it's much like the black ascension "oh so amazing so amazing" kind but never sees play
Quest for the Nihil Stone - This card ain't going to see any t2 play but for extended or even legacy there is an high chance this card will be seen in some decks like pox or rack
Explore - This card is like 1/25 of time walk which still makes it pretty good, it can give you land + hand advantage...
Joraga Warcaller - This guy is going to see play in all t2, extended and legacy thanks to the elf tribe, it could bring real damage in legacy combined with priest of titania and friends...
Omnath, Locus of Mana - I like this card, I REALLY like this card , but i think it's not going to see much play but still in a U/G control or even mono G ( that got especially powerfull with wwk)..
Wolfbriar Elemental - I like this card too and I'm going to definitely make a mono green it this guy omnath explore and friends
Novablast Wurm - I attack chapam wrath of god... still.... I don't know has the potencial but ...
I' m going to be honest I'm not going to the pre or release because this eddition sucks... but best luck for those who are going
See you next time

Abyssal Persecutor - I don't like this card but it's going to se play for sure even in extended and maybe legacy in some kind of rock...Actually the card ain't that bad because you can just "kill him" and use your Abyssal for blocker if they kill it they die but still... I just don't like it and besides baneslayer laughts at him...
Death's Shadow- There was a lot of overhype for this card... This card sucks... It can only get in play if you have 12 life and it's just going to have relevance size if you are at 7 which means it just gets when you are losing and it doesn't turn the game arround like baneslayer or elspeth for example, but still to have a bigger body than progenitus for 1 is still pretty cool :P
Chain Reaction - Some call it the red wrath of god but it's not that good remember a 5/5 only dies if there are other 4 creatures so...
Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs - I like this guy.. it's a 5/4 so survives bolt nactl lightning helix and friends and it has a propaganda effect!!! 3rr is a nice cost for this 5/4 that can make 3/3 watch out for U/r control or U/W/r variations...

Novablast Wurm - I attack chapam wrath of god... still.... I don't know has the potencial but ...
Lodestone Golem It's going to see play in vintage and i think it's all
Raging Ravine - This is the manland I most enjoy attack with it and it gets bigger every turn oh yeah...
Tectonic Edge - 4 land waste still not to bad...
I' m going to be honest I'm not going to the pre or release because this eddition sucks... but best luck for those who are going
See you next time

Noob Thoughts is back
Hi everybody.
So my last post was in November and a lot happened since then.
First congratulations to both Andre Coimbra and to China for winning the worlds.
The so waited updated banned list brought us no changes -.-.
And in 2010 we’ll have Legacy GPs , and I’m quite happy with this because finally legacy gets some attention, and I’ m going to GP Madrid with one of my NT ROGUE DECKS MUAHAAHA
So today I bring you my zoo:
NT stupid zoo
Creature
1 Progenitus
3 Woolly Thoctar
4 Knight of the Reliquary
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Wild Nacatl
3 Qasali Pridemage
2 Kird Ape
1 Noble Hiearch
Enchantment
2 Sylvan Library
Sorcery
4 Natural Order
Instant
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Lightning Helix
3 Path to Exile
Lands
2 Forest
1 Mountain
4 Savannah
3 Taiga
2 Arid Mesa
1 Plateau
4 Windswept Heath
4 Wooded Foothills
Let’s find out why are some cards here:
Progenitus + Natural Order – The best tech since Dreadnought + Stifle, stopping Progenitus is almost impossible, good luck with that.
Tarmogoyf- creativity stifling, everything that uses green is better with Tarmogoyf.
Woolly Thoctar – 3 mana for a 5/4 is alright plus he is green so….
Knight of the Reliquary – This baby is underrated, he is one of the best 3 drop ever, he is ,almost every time, a 4/4 when he hits the battlefield but he can grow bigger, tap it search for a fetch sacrifice the fetch and you got +2/+2 on the knight and 2 less lands to worry about in your deck.
Wild Nacatl and Kird Ape- Couldn’t be zoo without these boys, I only play with 2 apes because he’s not green.
Qasali Pridemage – This guy destroys tops, counterbalance, deeds ,Dreadnoughts and still hits for 2 and helps a friend if he needs with his exalted ability.

Noble Hiearch- This slot belonged to Kird Ape but I decided to stabilize my mana base and hiearch is something like an anti waste land that has exalted and can be offered to Natural Order
Sylvan Library- Allows you to dig your library, draw extra cards for life and put Progenitus back on the top if you draw it.
Lightning Bolt, Lightning Helix and Path to Exile- First two are the best burn spells ever, essential in a zoo. Path replaces Swords because zoo doesn’t care much about lands but he cares about life and getting his opponent to 0 is all that matters.
And there you go a nice zoo with Natural Order tech and fatties like Knight and Thotcar.
For side I would recommend something like 6 anti combo (canonist, Gaddock Teeg, Thorn of Amnesty) 3 Krosan grip 3 Anti dredge and 3 cards of your choice, depending on the metagame.
Hope you enjoyed it,
See you next time ( I promise I won’t take another 2 months to write another post xD )

Noob Thoughts gets to Legacy
This week I’m going to talk about the format where you might see goblin lackeys walking around and is completely Tarmo infested. I’m talking of course about legacy.
One of my friends challenged me to make a GBW (The Rock Deck) that could beat goblins and still be competitive (so no plague main or other gobbo hate). So I started analyzing the format and realize that average number of lands is about 22 (including about 6 to 8 fetchs) and I thought “Man, a land destruction deck can really hurt some decks”
So I started to think about a land destruction deck that could be effective. The best land destruction currently in legacy are:
-Wasteland, eye for an eye land for a land.
-Sinkhole; just the best land destruction spell ever…
-Vindicate, very flexible, can either destroy the opponent’s Tropical Island or his Tarmogoyf.
-Stifle, targeting a fetch it can be a 1 mana sinkhole.
-Molten rain, sinkhole and shock together….

-Molten rain, sinkhole and shock together….
CACHIM, 3 top cards of land destruction fit in a GBW deck. Now I had a small idea of how the deck could be I started look for cards that fit my deck idea:
-Terravore: This guy just loves Wasteland and your enemy fetchs feeding him.
-Knight of The Reliquary: One side Terravore, also can fetch for Wastelands or other non-basic lands.
-Smallpox: I thought I needed some more land destruction, also smallpox most of the times eats a creature from the opponent.
With no further delays I present you my deck:
NT Rock (Noob Thoughts Rock)
2 Terravore
4 Knight of The Reliquary
4 Sinkhole
4 Hymn to Tourach
4 Smallpox
4 Vindicate
4 Thoughtseize
2 Duress
4 Swords to Plowshares
3 Pernicious Deed
1 Savannah
3 Bayou
4 Verdant Catacombs
1 Forest
1 Plains
3 Scrubland
1 Swamp
4 Wasteland
4 Windswept Heath
3 Mishra's Factory
Sideboard:
4 Leyline of the Void
2 Duress
4 Engineered Plague
2 Krosan Grip
2 Choke
1 Ravenous Trap
4 Knight of The Reliquary
4 Sinkhole
4 Hymn to Tourach
4 Smallpox
4 Vindicate
4 Thoughtseize
2 Duress
4 Swords to Plowshares
3 Pernicious Deed
1 Savannah
3 Bayou
4 Verdant Catacombs
1 Forest
1 Plains
3 Scrubland
1 Swamp
4 Wasteland
4 Windswept Heath
3 Mishra's Factory
Sideboard:
4 Leyline of the Void
2 Duress
4 Engineered Plague
2 Krosan Grip
2 Choke
1 Ravenous Trap
I ‘ll now explain my choices : XD
-Knight, Terravore, Smallpox, Sinkhole and Wasteland are already explained (see above)
-Hymn to Tourach, Duress and Thoughtseize: This is the discard part from the normal rock, I think Hymn to Tourach + Thoughtseize and Duress as backup can make a lot of damage.
- Swords to Plowshares: the best spot removal…
- Pernicious Deed: the MVP of the deck against merfolk, gobbos, affinity, enchantress and other aggro decks
- Mishra's Factory: I really think Mishra's Factory is so good, it’s a 3/3 blocker activated for 1 can be fetched with Knight and can help the beat down.
Sideboard:
-Leyline and Ravenous trap: Dredge can be a pain in the ass for this deck; also Leyline stops a lot of decks that need the grave to work out.
-Duress: 4 Duress, 4 Hymn and 4 Seize hmmm gg combo?
-Engineered Plague: It has to beat goblins remember: P
-Krosan Grip: Best artifact and enchantment removal ever made.
-Choke: A blast against U decks, now most of his lands only have one shot to produce mana.
This decks beats almost any decks that uses only 18 to 21 lands (combo, most of multi-aggro, The Rock, etc).Hymn to Tourach and Thoughtseize take out combo and most of control decks and deed takes the aggro players out.
I’m not sure about lands deck, but I think NT Rock has the advantage.
So I think this deck does well in overall.
I would love to see some NT Rocks in the next top8s, hey I can still dream: P

Trinket Mage is good again ;D
Last season trinket mage lost a very close friend, I’m talking of course of sensei’s, and the poor mage couldn’t make it to competitive play.
This Season however brings trinket mage not new friends but enemies, enemies that can bring the Mage back to competitive. Don’t believe me? The top 8 of Pro tour Austin, congratulations to Brian Kibler, is made of 4 zoo, 2 dredges, 1 Hypergenesis and 1 dark depths combo. Trinket mage can pick the right answer to all of these decks!
Against zoo you have:
1- Good old explosives.
2- Chalice of the void ( maybe it’s to slow but chalice for 1 or 2 can really make zoo suffer)
3- Relic or crypt for the punishing fire tech
Against dredge you get:
1- Crypt or Relic( I prefer crypt , it costs 0 and doesn’t make goyf a 0/1)
Against Hypergenesis:
1- Chalice for 0, no more Hypergenesis
2- Aether Spellbomb may be handy…..
Against dark depths you have the following tools:
1- Pithing Needle ( naming Vampire Hexmage)
2- Aether Spellbomb , bye bye 20/20 indestructible with fly

Against dark depths you have the following tools:

2- Aether Spellbomb , bye bye 20/20 indestructible with fly
So the perfect toolbox would be something like:
- Xx Engineered Explosives (normally 2 or 3)
- Xx Engineered Explosives (normally 2 or 3)
- 1 Crypt, dredge is going to see play and so it’s the punishing fire tech
- 1 Chalice, to give an edge game 1 against Hyper, keeping in mind that the list that made top 8 had Susher on Sideboard.
- 1 Aether Spellbomb to stop the 20/20 legendary and a part of Genesis.
- 1 Executioner’s Capsule, if you are playing black
- 1 Academy Ruins
Now I sure hope to see some control decks with Trinket Mage making top 8s, hopefully some NTT Trinkets: D
Until Next Time,
Theptkid
P.s:
Aether Spellbomb to stop dark depths or Genesis is a Noob Thought Tech (NTT) and it Rocks!!!!

Extended Post-Rotation: Major Changes
The new extended season is coming, and what will change?
So, I'll leave you all a nice list with the most significant changes, enjoy ;)
Leaving:
- -No more cycling lands and without them I can’t see Life from the Loam be playable, maybe one of a kind in some gifts control or Tron…
- -Riptide Laboratory was a smashing card for faeries, but faeries will survive without it.
- -No more Mind’s Desire, so goodbye TEPS.
- - Ensnaring Bridge, that was an essential part of booth Tezzerator and burn… The Tezzerator will still see play although Tezzerator also loses stifle, so no more sinkholes for one mana. Burn also loses sulfuric vortex and thereby loses most of its strength…
- - Goblin Piledriver and friends say goodbye, still this doesn’t mean goblins won’t see play, we will now have Warren Instigator so only time could tell us.
- Chain of plasma, swans wasn't very powerfull before, now he is almost dead.
Entering:
- - New Fetches, move along nothing to see here.
- -Valakut, which combine with Scapeshift may give a new combo to extended but I personally think there’s no way this combo will be playable it takes to many lands to work (7, most of the time, and you need 6 mountains left in your deck, so there are a lot of restrictions…) and extended is so fast right now that I don’t think this kind of deck will be competitive.
- - Hypergenesis , the successor of TEPS, this deck has the potential to win quite early but it’s a bit fragile; It fails against a deck with some counters (Spellstutter Sprite can even counter Hypergenesis!!), a deck with some discard, Canonist and even Chalice, but still...
- - Vampire Hexmage , this little girl plus Dark Depths can make a beautiful 20/20 with fly and indestructible, but to make a deck around this idea it’s at least a bit suicide, because this 20/20 dies to path, bounce spells ( Repeal) , Pithing Needle (naming Vampire Hexmage, don’t get me wrong -.-) and this little combo needs 2 cards , and Dark Depths doesn’t even produce mana. Some decks could have this like a second win situation or even on side but to spend slots on that, I don’t think so…
- -Lightning Bolt and Goblin Guide, How could naya zoo become ever stronger? The answer is of course lightning bolt, so zoo doesn’t lose anything and still gains bolt and goblin guide, yes the 2/2 with haste gives even more speed to the already mega hyper fast zoo…
- -Duress and Maelstorm Pulse, this guys and Knight of the Reliquary could probably bring The Rock back to the top.
- -Baneslayer Angel could see game on some trons or U/W control or mono W (life) but that’s all.
- -Scute Mob, this guy could do amazing damage in a next level control alongside tarmogoyf, shackles, jitte, counters, ancestral vision…
- -Lotus Cobra, this guy is just too slow for extended...
- -Bloodghast alongside Tombstalker and friends could bring mono black back to life, and also Bloodghast could make dredge a tier 1 again!!
See you Later,
Theptkid

Why Lotus Cobra isn't just that good...
So Zendikar is officially playable and so is Lotus Cobra, which I think is way overrated... most of you are now calling me a noob and leaving but give me a chance.
Lotus Cobra kinda sucks in either mid game( about 5th turn) and late game or in topdeck mode.
Just think with me, the average t2 deck has about 24 lands, now with zendikar about 6 or more lands will be fetchs which means that by turn 5 it'll be difficult to activate the landfall ability( 24 land 6-9 fetchs, if you drop a land every turn and if 1-2 of those lands are fecths you will end up with 17-18 lands). Besides by turn 5 his ability will not have the same impact that has on turn 2 or 3.
Some of you are saying " Ok, but I CAN CAST VIOLENT ULIMATUM ON TURN 4 WITH LOTUS COBRA".Ok fair enough, but I think there will be no deck that uses violent ultimatum just for being able to play it with Lotus Cobra. Are you going to make a deck around Lotus Cobra just to play Ultimatum? What about if you don't get the Lotus Cobra or if this one gets pathed? You loose your wining strategy and game, besides I think no player will waste their slots with Violent Ultimatum.
Now, aggro players will probably enjoy birds and dislike Lotus Cobra although the Cobra has 2 power of attack, because the birds or hiearch fits the mana curve some decks want. Aggro players on turn 2 just want to play a leech or an hellspark or a more aggressive creature. Besides Lotus Cobra won't help to speed the deck just to slow it down, by the time Cobra hits the field the number of lands are very very very low.
Control... Now I' m seeing it, Baneslayer Angel on turn 3, Bloodbraid on turn 3 or even Enlisted Wurm on turn 4. I can see Cobra seeing play here, but remember your objective can't be to put big fat ass creatures early game because: What happens if you don't get Cobra... GG next!! How about if you do successfully put a big fat creature just to see it get doom bladed and you loose your gas?
Still Lotus Cobra plays big in a green white with some big fat creatures( Baneslayer Angel, I'm looking at you) or even an jund or bant control but that's all.
Just My Two Cents
P.S: Comments calling me noob are welcome if you explain your opinion
Until Next Time
